A Joomla viewing access level determines which user groups may see an item. Articles, menu items and modules are common examples.
How visibility is checked
An access level contains selected groups. Joomla compares them with the current user’s groups to decide whether the item is visible. Guests and signed-in users can therefore see different content.
What it does not grant
Viewing permission does not automatically allow editing, deleting or publishing. Joomla ACL action permissions govern those operations. When restricting an area, check its content, modules and related views as well as its menu item.
A Joomla viewing access level controls visibility. A complete role configuration also checks permitted actions and login to the required interface.
