Article is the main entity of the Joomla! Content component (com_content), used to form web pages of the last nesting level, such as articles.
Articles are the basic elements of the Joomla content component and the bottom level of its hierarchy.
The top level is the article categories, which can also belong to other categories.
Nested categories are called subcategories.
Examples of content element hierarchy in Joomla:
- Category → Article
- Category → Subcategory → Article
- Category → Subcategory → Subcategory → Article
Also, the article can be the only one in the hierarchy if it does not belong to categories. The number of categories nesting levels is not limited.
Articles com_content are created and edited through the Article Manager in the control panel.
