RSSEO is a powerful multifunctional component that significantly simplifies SEO optimization of Joomla sites. RSSEO allows you to manage page meta tags in the admin panel and from the external interface, set up redirects, track positions in search results, analyze competitors, and much more.
RSSEO capabilities
The component allows you to:
- Analyze the page for completeness of meta tags, enter your own aliases, enter OG markup.
- Check duplicate Title tags and Description meta tags.
- Get data on positions in Google and other ranks from other systems.
- Has a pretty normal redirect manager.
- You can create your own error pages.
- Tracks errors and non-existent pages.
- Creates a map site.
- Collects analytics of user behavior on the site.
- Other little things: connects Google Analytics, carries out verification.
Personal experience of using RSSEO
Everything seems to be great, just a fairy tale, not an extension. But sometimes the presence of unnecessary functionality does not have a very good effect on the operation of the entire system.
Recently, when sending mailings and mass traffic from Push notifications, my VPS began to freeze.
It would seem that everything is optimized, cached, there are enough resources, but it still works slowly. I doubled the VPS capacity (increased the processor power and RAM to 8 GB). The result did not change.
In search of the problem, I decided to look at the database. It turned out that there is one table that takes up 800 MB. I was surprised. This is a lot for one table with regular data.
It turned out that this table is from RSSEO, which stores user behavior monitoring data, i.e. such internal analytics, an absolutely unnecessary functionality.
Then I conducted an experiment, disabled all monitoring, detection of new pages and launched the mailing.
Result:
- the server responds promptly (First Byte Time 0.7 sec)
- the load does not exceed 5 seconds even with the mailing launched.
- 25,000 letters were sent using AcyMailing in less than an hour, while the VPS did not budge in terms of load.
