Joomla Web Asset Manager controls CSS and JavaScript inclusion on a page. It provides asset registration, dependencies and activation of required resources.
Registration and use
Asset definitions often live in joomla.asset.json. Registration tells Joomla about an asset but does not by itself include it in output. Code marks an asset as used, after which its dependencies are taken into account.
Why dependencies matter
Assets have names, and their relationships determine output ordering. This reduces repeated manual file inclusion across Joomla extensions. Diagnosis involves registration, activation, paths, versions and the template’s actual output.
Joomla Web Asset Manager handles asset delivery. It does not replace checking browser errors, library compatibility or page performance.
