What affects an offer
The Joomla update component checks the selected source and considers the installation version and release requirements. Channel labels and available choices differ between versions. A core channel does not automatically control every third-party extension’s updates.
Using channels
Use an appropriate stable source for a production site. Evaluate test releases on a separate Joomla copy. Before a major-version upgrade, review requirements, compatibility and migration steps, then prepare a backup.
