The Joomla administrator panel, also called the backend, is the interface for managing site content and configuration.
How the panel works
The login is normally available at /administrator. After authentication, Joomla shows the areas that the account may access, such as articles, menus, modules, users and system tools. Available sections depend on installed extensions and account permissions.
Who can use it
Administrator login requires a specific ACL permission. Registering on the public site does not automatically grant backend access. A Joomla editor can be allowed to manage articles while system configuration remains restricted. Full Super User permissions are only needed for tasks that require them.
Test permissions with the working account and use multi-factor authentication. The Joomla administrator panel and the public site serve different purposes while sharing the same underlying data.
