Main operations
Joomla tools install packages, list extensions, check updates and manage enabled states. Modules and plugins also have their own operational lists and settings. Installing a module type does not automatically create the required published block.
Before making changes
Review compatibility, dependencies and data retention before installation or removal. Uninstalling a Joomla extension can remove its tables and files, whereas disabling normally retains the installation. Package members must be considered together.
The Joomla Extension Manager maintains the site’s software inventory. Verify changes through the actual features supplied by the affected extension.
