K2 is a content builder (CCK) for Joomla 3, which is a more functional alternative to the Content component on Joomla 3.

The K2 content builder was created by the JoomlaWorks development team as a complete replacement for the standard Joomla content component and, at the moment, the component has everything to painlessly abandon this standard functionality.
The extension is installed in the standard way, like any other extension for Joomla! - through the Extension Manager. The component supports full import of materials from Joomla, and you will instantly get a lot of new possibilities for your existing content.

Russification of K2
Our team has noticed the difficulties that arise with installing the Russian language for this component. We will tell you a little about the specifics of these difficulties and how to solve them.
So, the official language packs can be found on this page. And already at this stage the difficulty of choice arises, because there are as many as 4 Russifiers for K2 offered for download:
- Russian
- Russian Petrine orthography
- Russian (Russia)

You can install Russification directly from the URL (if you don’t understand, look here), or from your computer.
The next problem (relevant at the time of writing) will arise when after installation the K2 control panel is still displayed in English. The thing is that the translator made a small mistake in the Russifier file, which is treated as follows:
- open the file
administrator/language/ru_RU/ru_RU.com_k2.ini - look for the next occurrence of
'header aliases"(there should be 2 occurrences) and replace it with'header aliases', thereby changing the erroneous double quote symbol. - after this, the K2 component control panel should be displayed in Russian.
