The Google Structured Data component allows you to perform actions to implement micro-markup through the Joomla admin panel without any special knowledge or code editing: all micro-markup will be implemented after installing and configuring this extension!
About micro-markup
It is known that the presentation of Google search results snippets (and partly Yandex snippets) can be influenced by micro-markup: special attributes in HTML code added to strictly defined tags. Depending on the number of marked elements, snippets become many times more attractive.
The problem for website owners and developers is the implementation of micro-markup in the code of Joomla component and module templates: it is necessary to copy template files, find the necessary tags, add micro-markup code, check it in validators. At the same time, you need to know what, where and how to mark.
This is a routine job for web developers, and most website owners who do not understand code are not able to do it at all.
You can quickly and easily implement micro-markup on your website without interfering with the code using the Google Structured Data component.
Micro-markup of global elements
Google Structured Data marks the following elements at a global level (for all pages of a site):
- breadcrumbs (Breadcrumbs module);
- logo;
- website name;
- contact information;
- social profiles;
- search field.
Micro-markup of individual pages
In addition, the Google Structured Data component allows you to determine the content type for individual materials by implementing the appropriate micro-markup: this can be done in the component's admin panel, or in a separate tab when editing the material directly.
Google Structured Data works with the following components:
- com_content;
- K2;
- EasyBlog;
- Zoo;
- SP Page Builder;
- VirtueMart;
- HikaShop;
- Menu Manager;
- RSBlog;
- JoomShopping;
- J2Store;
- K2Store.
Update and distribution
The developer is constantly expanding the list of components for integration with Google Structured Data.
There is a paid (29€) and free (integration only with com_content) version of the component.
